Opening today at Kee’s Laundry - East Van Originals, a new show featuring photography By Alastair Bird, Beer by R&B Brewing and Original East Van music.
East Vancouver is a hotbed of artistry, creativity, and craft. This was the inspiration for “East Van Originals,” a series of photographs created by capturing Raven Cream Ale, from East Vancouver’s Original Craft Brewery – R&B Brewing Co, resonating with the music of East Van bands.
Raven Cream Ale was poured into a stretch wrap-lined woofer, and the images were captured as original East Van music was blasted at top volume.

One of the pieces featured in our current exhibit The Holy Show is “DIY Saint”, created by St. Bernadine Mission Communications Partner Andrew Samuel.

Positioned at the intersection of classical sculpture and contemporary culture, this representation of Saint Bernadine takes as inspiration fan fiction, toy freaks, and paper monsters. Conceived as a free download, this DIY paper sculpture portraying Saint Bernadine in the height of his evangelical prowess combines the spiritual and the physical by positioning the viewer as implicit in its making.
